In his book, Eating For Beauty, nutritional expert, David Wolfe, discusses some of the most beautifying foods for beautiful skin to look and feel great.

As usual, if you don’t want to panic, Go Organic!

1. Aloe Vera

Used by the military in the treatment of burns, Aloe Vera’s skin healing potential is well-documented. The anti-inflammatory power has recently been linked to certain nutrients found in the gel of the Aloe Vera with its restorative effects supporting skin elasticity, cell repair and youthfulness. Apply topically or add as powder to your daily juice.

2.  Coconut Oil

Coconut Oil is packed with Vitamin E, which encourages growth and repair of skin cells, protects against the effects of aging and nourishes dry lips and skin. Its high protein concentration also speeds up healing time, helping you look fresher and more radiant. You can eat it straight, blend it into smoothies or apply to the skin topically.

3. Cucumbers

A great cleanser, Cucumbers are 95% water, helping to keep the body hydrated while eliminating toxins. The skin of cucumbers is also high in Silicon, a vital mineral for healthy skin. NB: Cucumbers are often grown with pesticides and waxed in stores, so go organic if you can.

4. Radishes

One of the most beautifying of all foods. Radishes contain a number of minerals and compounds that benefit the skin. High in sulphur, silicon and Vitamin C, these nutrients work together to create glowing, healthy skin by boosting collagen, strengthening the immune system and stimulating the circulatory system. Little red radishes make an excellent snack, can be tossed into salads or added to fresh vegetable juices.

5. Turmeric

Turmeric’s anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties are well documented. Turmeric is also known for its ability to purify blood, which is essential for clear, beautiful skin. Turmeric makes the skin soft, supple and smooth. It can be added to salad dressings, smoothies and various raw-food recipes.

6. Pumpkin Seeds

Pumpkin Seeds are a great source of B vitamins, easily digestible protein and health-supporting minerals such as Magnesium and Zinc. Pumpkin Seeds provide wonderful phytonutrient and healthy fatty oil levels – vital for healthy, glowing skin.

7. Macadamia Nuts

The combination of high levels of Selenium, fatty acids and Zinc make Macadamia Nuts a fantastic skin beautifier. You can eat as a straight snack, add it to your Salads or Smoothies.

8. Grape seed Oil

With antioxidant properties 50 times stronger than vitamin E, this anti-inflammatory oil stimulates collagen, lightens dark circles and can even prevent clogged pores. Grapeseed Oil is easily absorbed into the skin and is compatible with all complexion types. For best results, apply to the skin topically.

9. Figs

Figs are a great source of fibre and full of vitamins and minerals to support a healthy glowing skin. Rich in minerals including potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron and copper, figs are also a good source of antioxidant Vitamins A, E and K that contribute to health and wellness. Best eaten fresh or consumed dried.

10. Arugula

Arugula is a fantastic source of two of the key ingredients for healthy, glowing skin: Vitamin A and Sulphur. The chlorophyll in this dark, leafy green is also a powerful detoxifier.  Arugula is best eaten raw and makes a fantastic ingredient in a salad.

26 seconds is all it takes for the toxic chemicals in modern skincare products to enter our bloodstream.

With all the pollution in our world, eating these delicious, healthy foods and enjoying the glowing-skin health benefits they can provide, seems like a no-brainer.
