3 Natural Skincare Secrets of the Stars

Whether you’re an avid tabloid reader or couldn’t care less about the latest star in the spotlight, it’s undeniable that celebrities tend to have access to the widest range of beauty and skincare products, and are more inclined to spend excessively on their physical appearance than the average person will.  That’s why it can be informative to at least take note of the products they rely on and even sometimes swear by.  While many do use products outside a reasonable price range, others have found their own fountains of youth in natural, chemical-free skincare products we might all want to try, or at least know about.  Three of the most heavily touted ones are described below.

  1. Emu Oil: Emu oil is oil derived from the fat of the emu animal.  It’s prized for its ability regenerate skin, and adds moisture to deeper into the skin than most other creams are able to penetrate.  It can noticeably reduce the appearance of wrinkles, and it can smoothen out and even almost eliminate the appearance of scars with enough time, a feature Zac Efron has made use not only to take care of his skin, but to reduce the appearance of a scar from appendix surgery.  Goldie Hawn, Cate Blanchett, Beyonce Knowles, Demi Moore and Oprah Winfrey have sworn by it, and have attributed much of the longevity of their clear and youthful skin to its daily use.
  2. Bee Products and Olive Oil: There are a number of brands that sell this combination.  It’s generally a mixture of honey, bee pollen, royal jelly, bees wax, propolis, and olive oil, with the most well-known brand called Egyptian Magic.  Given the prevalence of its use among celebrities and Hollywood make-up artists, it would be easy to assume it had fetched a high price, but the formulation in various brands tend to be fairly reasonably priced.  It can feel a little oily, but left on overnight, it can leave a fresh glow on your face each morning.  It’s heavily used by the likes of Emily Blunt, Kate Hudson, and Gisele Bundchen.  Chanel celebrity makeup artist Rachel Goodwin called it “The product I am most thankful for.”
  3. Coconut Oil: Coconut oil is used both internally and externally by a plethora of celebrities.  Its unique nutrient content—its high amount of lauric acid, for instance, is the closest of any food to breast milk—give it an ability to moisturize and soften skin that for some works best.  Gwyneth Paltrow moisturizes her skin with it after every bath, and Gisele Bundchen’s organic skincare line features coconut oil as a main ingredient.  Many also consume it on a daily basis.  Angelina Jolie has been known for having a spoonful of coconut oil each morning, and model Miranda Kerr stated, “I will not go a day without coconut oil.  I personally take four tablespoons per day.”
