Recently Dean Headley, Airline Quality Rating Co-author and Associate Professor of marketing at Wichita State University revealed the advice as to why travelers should book their holiday air travel a bit early this year. The reasons given by the Co-author for booking air travel early are as follows:
- As always transpires airline demand remains strong all year round particularly during holiday seasons like thanksgiving and Christmas. During this period airlines ticket prices soar higher and travelers find it hard to find seats.
- Traveling during holiday season remains always harrowing and uncertain. What may happen at the last moment nobody knows. For example, due to high volume of passengers you may not get boarding pass at the last moment. Furthermore bad weather may play spoil and you may have to cancel your trip. Headley said, this year is no exception.
- December and January months are worst for air travelers. As travelers have to cope with worst on-time arrival of the airline and mismanaged baggage rates are higher. Airlines never guarantees their schedules and you should make alternative arrangements when planning your trip.
- Check and re-check the arrival and departure timings of your flights a few days ahead, as schedules may sometime changes. Some reputed airlines offer SMS service to inform their travelers. But during rush time you can’t expect airline informing you at the last moment.
- Headley advises the best bet before travelers is to travel in advance before holiday or after the holiday season to remain safe and get cheap airlines tickets.
- Airline tickets during holiday period soar higher, you may have to shell out more than USD 100 per ticket.
- In order to get a cheap airlines ticket travel on a particular day of a week like mid-week or on Saturday. Flights for holiday seasons are sold out six to eight months in advance, so it all depends on you to make your holiday plan as early as possible and book your airlines tickets.
