9 Food & Vegetables That You Can Regrow Again & Again

Beets
Beets are delicious but not loved by everyone. Personally, I don’t like them. With that being said, beets are surprisingly easy to regrow. When preparing beets, the tops of the beet should always be sliced off. You should then place them in a small pot, empty can, or cup with water.

Lemongrass
Lemongrass is a great herb and it is not easy to find fresh at regular grocery stores. This herb resembles regular grass and to grow it, just take the root, place it in a bowl in an area with full sunlight and cover the root with water. In about a week, this can be planted outside once you notice new growth.

Pumpkin
Pumpkins are a truly incredible fruit. People can use them for decoration and as food. Fortunately, they can also be easily re-grown.

Potatoes
Take the eyes on potatoes and dry them out for about 12 hours. Dig a four inch oil in healthy soil and then just put the eyes in and cover the hole. It can take about a month for new growth.

Garlic
You can re-grow a plant from just a single clove – just plant it, root-end down, in a warm position with plenty of direct sunlight. The garlic will root itself and produce new shoots. Once established, cut back the shoots and the plant will put all its energy into producing a tasty big garlic bulb. And like ginger, you can repeat the process with your new bulb.

Onions
Onions are simple to grow and you can grow any type both outdoors and indoors. Make sure you have a sunny area and take the root and plant it in potting soil. For green onions, just take the base with the roots on it and place it in some water and let it grow.

Pineapples
Good things come to those who wait. Regrowing a pineapple can take two to three years, but why not give it a go? We cut the green crown (top) off, removed any fruit from it and dried it out (upside down) for about a week. Before we planted the crown, we put it in a glass of water for a week so the roots could start growing.

Basil
You can regrow basil by putting the basil stems with leaf nodes in a glass of water and placing them in a sunny spot. Wait for the roots to grow about 2 inches long and then transfer them in pots.

Celery
You can regrow celery by cutting off the base of the celery and placing it in a bowl of warm water in a sunny spot. The new leaves in the middle of the base will begin to grow and thicken in 5 to 7 days. Then you can transfer it to a pot with soil.
