How Much Do You Know Your Lipstick?

Consider this:

With every sip of coffee – You are ingesting heavy metals.

Every time you eat sandwich – You are supporting animal testing.

Every time you kiss your child – You are keeping child labour in 3rd world country alive.

Do you think that  far from the truth?

Think again.

Believe it or not, a lot of women these days are doing the above actions right now. In fact, you may have done the same a few minutes or a few hours ago.

Yes, YOU!

Whatever other thing you are doing right now, I implore you to stop, read, and consider this –

How much do you know your lipstick?

Do you know that by choosing the wrong lippies you are unintentionally harming yourself, the people dearest to you, and even those in far away countries?

If the answer to that is no, then you are in danger. You are in danger of committing and supporting things you do not want to be a part of and in danger of putting your own health at risk. But how can an innocent, colourful, and beautiful thing such as a lipstick be linked to ingestion of heavy metals, animal testing, and child labour?

No matter how much you think you know and love your favourite lipsticks, there are certain things about it you may not be aware of. Things such as those mentioned above. The good news is; it is entirely up to you to choose to be informed and to be a part of making a positive change to your health, to the people around you, and even to world issues such as child labour and animal testing.

What if I tell you that by swapping your lipstick for healthier and smarter choices through education, you can be a part of making a positive change?

Will you do it?

Will you swap your lipstick for something home made?

For most women, the answer is a resounding NO; but then, how much do you know your lipstick?

As a woman, you deserve to be healthy. You deserve to be pampered just as you take care of loved ones. You deserve to be informed so you can make the best choices for yourself. You deserve to be safe; and you deserve to love yourself.

Why am I saying all of this? These days, huge percentage of women use a lot of time in picking out their outfit of the day, shopping for accessories, and doing other considerably trivial stuff – all to be considered fashionable or to make themselves beautiful. Sadly, not a lot of women really pay much attention to what is in the cosmetics they use, especially the lipstick!

I believe it is time to arm ourselves with knowledge so we can make smarter choices when it comes to our cosmetics and our lipstick. With this thought, the book 10 Reasons to Swap Your Lipstick was born.

Most women do not realise it but if you wear lipsticks on most days, it is present in a lot of your activities and actions. With the wrong lipstick choices, you are ingesting harmful chemicals each time you eat a sandwich or take a sip of your coffee. In fact, every time you ‘splurge’ on a bargain lipstick, you participate in keeping workers in 3rd world country impoverished.

This is no exaggeration, as how can a very cheaply priced tube of lipstick be reasonably produced for such low prices without sacrificing either quality materials or lawful labour compensation?

It is not just that, but even high-end ones can be produced by companies who test products on animals and engage in child labour.

How about exposing loved ones to harmful materials?

How often do you kiss your child? Your man? Your friends? People who are close to you?

By not knowing how your lipstick was produced or how safe the materials are, you may be unknowingly exposing the people most dear to you to high concentrations of heavy metals such as lead which can harm them in the long run. So again, how much do you know your lipstick and how much do you love yourself?

I wrote this book because I believe everyone deserves the best in life. We women deserve to get in touch with our femininity by keeping ourselves looking beautiful in the safest and healthiest way possible. This is of course easier achieved by being empowered with the latest facts and research. That is what I have to offer you in this easy to understand and reader-friendly book.

I challenge you to ask yourself: Will you swap your lipstick for smarter and healthier choices? Are you brave enough to face the truth about your favourite lippies? Are you prepared to give yourself the best gift of empowered and healthy beauty?
