New medical studies are done all the time and with many of the western world suffering from diabetes, it’s only natural that it’s studied heavily in an attempt to cure and prevent. However, no matter how much money and technology is ploughed into finding a way to prevent the disease, the same results always seem to come back. This is to say that those who live a healthy lifestyle which involves plenty of exercise are far less likely to develop diabetes during their lifetime. Keeping at a healthy weight is also a major preventative method. The trouble is, some people still need help educating about these preventative measures and people who are classified as “high risk” are starting to get this help from healthcare officials. This is a trend that’s gaining popularity in America and it’ll only get more widespread throughout the country as time goes on. This is now becoming a global problem and not just an American one.

A task force in America called the community preventative services have just released a set of recommendations for healthcare officials with the end game being to educate people on how to best limit the chances of developing type 2 diabetes. They also have supplied information to communities with people at high risk of developing the disease and to encourage people with diabetes to get involved in more community programs and exercises. Many researchers believe that these intense programs that these community’s will receive will only encourage and increase healthy living which in turn should turn high risk people into a far lesser risk. It’s been researched that around 150 minutes of exercise per week really does make a massive difference so these community exercises will certainly help lower the risk of diabetes developing.

As said previously, keeping the weight off by exercise is a great preventative measure. Diet also plays a massive part so diet tips and recommendations are also provided to high risk communities in America. A Mediterranean style diet is a great to follow as it gives a nice balanced diet whilst getting all the nutrients needed.
