Overcoming Premature Ejaculation with Kratom

Premature ejaculation is a common problem with many possible causes. To some degree it is inherent in the way men and women are set up, both emotionally and physically. Men typically require very little time to achieve an orgasm; women commonly require a longer and more nuanced process to get to the same level of excitement. Not surprisingly, this can cause problems in relationships.

As the herb kratom has become more popular for many other reasons, people have discovered that it is very effective for overcoming premature ejaculation. It is often too effective for a large percentage of the men who take it — a problem most of their wives and girlfriends are happily benefiting from.

Premature Ejaculation Can Be Overcome, But It May Create a New Challenge

With some thought and mental discipline most men can overcome their new challenge of delayed ejaculation because, on balance, their partner’s gratification has finally been achieved so abundantly. Relationships have been known to blossom because the female partner has at last been copiously satisfied. Women who previously were “less than excited” about intercourse because it didn’t last long enough to be fulfilling, may now begin to look forward to it.

Delayed ejaculation is not the worst problem to have, as most men questioned in a survey below confirmed. Nevertheless, it is a problem and it can and should be solved so that both partners can experience can experience their orgasms more or less at the same time.

Treating premature ejaculation by conventional methods usually involves antidepressants, topical anesthetics (lidocaine cream), and/or an opioid/antidepressant mix (Tramodol).  All of these bring unwanted side-effects to the situation.

Kratom combines natural alkaloids that act on the opioid receptors, with serotonergic, adrenergic, and dopaminergic activity to give an overall feeling of well-being, with fewer of the common side-effects that prescription opioids, antidepressants, and stimulant pharmaceuticals produce.

As Dr. Edward Boyer said in Scientific American, Kratom also has serotonergic activity, too—it binds with serotonin receptors. So if you want to treat depression, if you want to treat opioid pain, if you want to treat sleepiness, this [compound] really puts it all together.”

Premature ejaculation can be caused by many things. It is not possible here to go into all the  psychological or physical causes of this serious problem. We’re just here to discuss how the herb kratom is being used to help it and occasionally cause other problems for sexual performance.

In surveying kratom consumers on how kratom affects their sexual experience regarding premature ejaculation, we encountered so many conflicting responses! It was puzzling, but — upon reflection — it seemed to all come down to a need for more understanding of how to use this herb — in the right form and in the most advantageous way. For some men and women, however, it might be better to avoid kratom use before sex altogether.

Here is a shortened list of the responses we received when a group of kratom consumers were asked about their experience in regard to premature ejaculation.

Jackie said: “I find it helps me, too!”

Sacha said: “Kratom makes it more difficult for me to reach orgasm, so I’d imagine it helps people with PE.

One thing to look at: Long term opioid use was recently discovered to decrease testosterone levels, potentially permanently, causing sexual issues for some consumers. Since kratom hits the opioid receptors, heavy users (i.e. users of extracts) may need to keep an eye on that.”

Vivian said: “Personally on percs (percocets), I had a terrible time reaching my happy place. With Kratom, well…. let’s just say me and the old man can make 30 somethings jealous !!!! Hubby uses only whites (White Vein strains of kratom). Oooo lalala!”

Anthony said: “After I take kratom I notice an increase in my sexual urges. It reminds me of a light duty Viagra.”

“I haven’t had any problem with climax. I use the Green Maeng Da. Still experimenting with different sources & strains. When I took red vein strains, my libido seemed to diminish somewhat. I’ve also noticed a difference in how strong sexual desire is between taking kratom from Indonesia, & from Malaysia. The Malaysian seems much stronger.” [Editor’s Note: Almost all kratom is grown in Indonesia, but from different regional varieties, some of which are clones of Malaysian and Thai trees. Malay trees do, indeed, contain a very different alkaloid mix than Thai or native Indo strains.]”

Contel said: “Kratom can also hinder your ability to achieve an erection. I find it often comes down to strain and dosage in a lot of cases.”

Tony said: “ I’ve used it for over 5 years and up until last year it had the same result. Increase in libido, no problem getting or keeping an erection but it did stop ejaculation at times. I don’t mind cause it’s better for the partner.”

Amy said: “Yes, it does stop ejaculation at times for my husband, but neither of us take it personally.  Actually, that was an issue for us, premature ejaculation, which was an issue for nearly 17 years of our marriage. Needless to say, as a woman I could not enjoy sex because it was over in 7 minutes. Since my husband started taking Kratom, about 3 years now, it changed everything. I was like “Omg! I can relax and actually explore, and enjoy this! There was no more rush or sense that “it” would be over quickly, so as a woman, my own sexuality blossomed.”

Linzy said:  “I imagine red vein kratom might make it more difficult to achieve an erection because it acts like a muscle relaxer….I think a white strain could be promising for the men.”

Tammy said: “I have also noticed those reds can also delay a woman’s orgasm.” I only ever noticed it with stronger reds like Bentuangie & Kapuas.”

Greens (green vein strains) mixed with whites (white vein strains) seemed to help enjoyment & energy.”

Emanuel: “Kratom heightens libido in both men and women, which for a healthy sexually active adult, means an increase in overall sex drive and performance, both for men and women. Taking too much over time can desensitize libidos and response, because the mechanism for response is dependent on gratification. When libidos are high all the time, “workout sex” being the objective, a higher amount of libido will be necessary for response, over time… I found it’s great for performance, but taking less has its merits especially directly before sex, as the ability to orgasm in both men and women is delayed… But take it an hour or so beforehand it can act like a nice glass of wine before dinner. It’s all a balance here too.”

Emanuel: “The relaxing kinds at high doses should be taken in moderation in regards to this question, as are reds… Whites act differently somehow and don’t sedate quite as much even at high doses, which is ideal for response.”

Ryan: it not only helps duration but I don’t know if its because of the alkaloids being similar to yohimbine, but I feel like it slightly increases my sex drive also.”

Tayka: “I found that it is has increased my libido and helped me prolong ejaculation.

Andre said: “Let’s just say when taking Kratom, it’s hard to keep a good man down.”

Billy: “I noticed the opposite, actually.”

Bill: “Ladies love it when their man took some kratom.”

Cindie: “For me it completely enhances sex, and , to be honest, I’m always horny (for lack of a better word!!). Since taking kratom, my sex life has improved greatly — for me it’s more intense. I do notice that for men it’s hard for them to ‘release’, which gets frustrating for them, I’d assume.”

Joy: “Gets frustrating for me too.”

Melissa: “I don’t notice any desires at all. I did have my ovary removed and I’m always curious if that’s why.”

Joe: “A psychiatrist told me that he has prescribed Prozac to help patients with premature ejaculation because it delays or even prevents orgasm. Many go off of Prozac because of this but it’s a good thing for P.E (premature ejaculation). sufferers. My experience with Kratom is that it certainly has the same effect and I avoid Kratom if sex is likely. Same with hydrocodone, oxycodone which I have not used since drinking the magic tea.”

Kellie said: “I honestly believe it has helped me, tremendously. I always had an issue with orgasm, (though it could be my ex). In the last 3 years, since I started taking kratom, I have had nothing but success. I also met my now boyfriend about a week after I started kratom…I have had the best sex ever these last few years. Not to stomp on my man’s ego, because obviously he’s making it happen, but I think 100% it’s the kratom helping me get there..he’s even thought so.”

In Conclusion…

For many, kratom is the best thing since sliced bread; for others, responses are all over the board.

Potential causes of the problems are:

  1. Choosing the wrong strain for the situation
  2. Individual metabolic differences that get in the way
  3. Psychological issues
  4. Past use of opioids & other pharmaceuticals or illicit drugs?
  5. Hormonal imbalances

There is also the known problem of lowered testosterone levels for both men and women who have been taking opioids for long periods of time. This may require supplementation to bring them back to normal. (See a doctor about this.)

It is also worth considering that kratom may not be useful for everyone at any given time in their life — or, due to specific genetic differences, perhaps not ever.

Due to so many instructive comments submitted for this topic, we will include them in a future article. Many thanks to all who contributed!
