Supporting Events for Parents to Aid for Autism

It is known by most of the people that autism is becoming very serious issue day by day in U.S.

A report has been published with the data that 91% of U.S children with autistic symptoms died by drowning between the year 2009 and 2011.

How vital the situation is to treat autism:

So, we have no need to say that how vital the situation is due to this genetic neuropsychiatric disorder. Yes, autism is purely genetic and there are more than 500 genetic variants to cause this brain injury. That’s the reason why it is an incurable disorder still.

A question may raise here and that is, don’t we have any key solution to treat autism?

The answer is we may not cure it, but we can aid autism and reduce its adverse effects by taking some actions at the right time. The interesting part is, people can take the preliminary actions by themselves. Early diagnosis is one of such preliminary actions. Early diagnosis on or before the age of three can be beneficial not only to aid autism from very early stage, but also to control or reduce its symptoms as early as possible.

Symptoms to diagnose autism by yourself:

It sounds very simple but people need to be aware of it. April, the autism awareness month has gone but still, the disorder needs more awareness. There is no specific clinical parameter to diagnose autism, but the behavioral symptoms of autism in offsprings can be easily diagnosed by their parents.

The symptoms to diagnose autism in suspected people are listed below.

  • Non-verbal communication

  • Cognitive disabilities

  • Repetitive behavior

  • Linguistic disability

  • Motor skill disorder

These are basic, even clinicians check the presence of these symptoms in a suspected one. But early diagnosis can let the treatment start early and reduce or control the symptoms as soon as possible.

Aid for Autism with Events and Programs:

Aid for autism needs different events and programs to make people aware. Some examples are listed below.

National Autism Association (NAA) is one of most experienced organizations which made a program (Give A Voice) to aid autism in children with language problem. This program is designed to provide a communication device from NAA to the children with very less verbal or non-verbal skills. Parents with autistic offsprings need to be aware of these programs to provide their offsprings these program benefits.

NAA is an example offering aid for autism by providing their innovative programs to the people suffering from this neurological disorder.

Besides general people, clinicians and doctors also need to be up to date with recent discoveries and treatments to aid autism.

MAPS, Medical Academy of Pediatric Special Needs, also takes part in this mission. As autism is still under study, researchers come up with several discoveries and findings on it. Here, MAPS plays the role to help clinicians become up to date with the recent findings to aid autism.

For example, MAR (Maternal Antibody Related Autism) test is the only blood test through which it can be diagnosed whether mothers are highly susceptible to give birth to autistic offspring.

In this September, 2015, MAPS is going to arrange 3 days CME training for the clinicians in the field of neuro-developmental disorders.

Objective of this article:

The goal of this article is to aid for autism with examples of NAA and MAPS, which make people aware not only of autistic symptoms but also about the programs and events on how to treat autism.
