What to do about Sweaty, Smelly Feet

image

Smelly feet are usually from the result of to much moisture, which creates a breeding ground for bacteria. There are a small percentage of people who have overactive sweat glands.

So it is best to decrease wetness by increasing circulation, like trying to wear open toe shoes or sandals; or wearing socks made from natural fibers, like cotton to wick away the moisture.

Suggestions to decrease the sweat and the smell:

Wearing shoes made from canvas or leather for greater air circulation.

Go barefoot as often as you can.

Don’t wear the same pair of shoes two days in a row…they need time to dry out!

It’s important to have a sufficient intake of zinc, which makes the skin more resistant to bacteria.

Sweating can sometimes result from consuming to much caffeine, so decrease or cut back coffee, tea or soda.

To fight bacteria and fungus, reduce sweating and protect against Athlete’s foot problems:

Soak your feet in water mixed with pleasant smelling botanical essential oils. (tea tree, geranium, cypress are all anti-fungal)

Add at least 2 Tbs Epson salts, baking soda or sea salt.

Mix well and soak your feet for 15 minutes, dry thoroughly.

If you want to use a foot powder use one with clay, which absorbs more than 200 times its weight in moisture.

Many people with Psoriasis or excema can have a problem with their skin like sores and they can be scaling and weeping which causes bacterial growth, it becomes a smelly problem also.

I recommend a homeopathic blend for Psoriasis or essential oils of olive leaf, tea tree or oregano. Check for deficiencies of selenium, zinc or Vitamin A. Also a calendula cream for the skin, aloe or honey to soothe and heal.

Try to help people who have this problem, think of the best way to inform them. But give them some suggestions even if its anonymously!
