The Many Faces of Fear

No one is immune from fear in their life. However fear can take hold and affect everyone differently depending on their most important asset, their health. In this post you can learn 12 simple steps to heal from the many faces of fear.

When we are deeply afraid.  The body is unable to move forward. This can leave us with poor decision- making abilities. ‘Fear’s Road’ leads to increasing low energy levels, poor self-care habits, and primitive coping skills. Stop to listen.

Dealing–  At first you need to bypass the middleman. Ask what, who or you? Identify what is it you’re are dealing with and who or what you are afraid of. Honesty works best in this first step. Blaming is not included.

Recognize–  It’s truly helpful to recognize if you are trapped by your fear, physically, emotionally or mentally. When you live with fear, it’ hard to spend hours at work and have a rewarding family relationship. What habits do you repeat every day, like clockwork.  Do you exercise? Are your habits mundane, or would you rather include upbeat and joyful events?

Power & Control–  Who or what is it that has the power to control you? Do you aim for control in everything you do?  What are some control patterns that you’ve carried around with you since childhood?

Decisions–  Who makes the decisions in your life? Do you rely on your spouse, doctor or friend? Can you make a decision to be well?

Release–  Toxic self talk. Make it a habit to add in beautiful health conscious words in your vocabulary. Go for a long walk with a camera and look for the beauty in all that surrounds you.

Time– How many times a day do you tell yourself you don’t have time for this or that? Time is not your enemy, beliefs are. Journaling is a great way to find out if the beliefs you have are false. Categorize them. What do you need to hold onto and what beliefs can you let go?

Beliefs– Who knows your mind and body better than you? Taking time to meditate is a calming practice for your mind that you can easily learn and implement. If you have a health challenge, don’t be forced into a decision you’ll regret. Look at all your options and take time to make the best decision for you, without pressure.

A Poor Diet– Leaves the mind and body with plenty of toxic side effects. These play a role in uncontrollable fear- based emotions. After months or years of disrespecting your body with an abundance of alcohol and high sugary products, it’s next to impossible to feel well. Sugar controls the mind and body and leads to increasing fears, obesity, depression and poor immunity. Take the path to increasing whole foods and ditching processed foods.

Television Promotes Fear– T V can be manipulatory and brain washing. Most times we are conditioned to hearing only bad news. Day in and day out, this can pave the way to a toxic nervous system, increasing anxiety and fear. Consider going to your favorite book store instead.

Depression– The body’s communication system shuts down when we lack good self-care habits. What can you do? Put your support system in place. Find a coaching program that encourages you to develop healthy mind and body habits that last a lifetime.

Rejuvenate– Ask your body what it needs. Remember… fear can keep you from making those changes to conquer your fear. What can help you today?  More rest, a massage, acupuncture, a friend that you can talk to? Add in your favorite holistic modalities here.
